Hey guys! I recently got back from my cross country road trip with my best friends. I have to say, I'm glad to be back in New York. This road trip took 19 days which was just enough time for sightseeing all of the cities we wanted to visit. Out of all of the places we stayed, this one definitely stood out to me.
Whenever I stay in Airbnbs I like to pick ones that are quirky and not your typical hotel style. This bungalow in South Dakota was EVERYTHING. We ended up staying in South Dakota because we wanted to see Mount Rushmore. This Bale Butterfly bungalow is about 30-40 minutes from the memorial so not too far. The place is owned by a teacher who built it with his own two hands. It accommodates four people which is great for a group of friends (like me) or a couple. It has a very charming kitchen with cork cabinets and a rain shower head that is everything. The large garage door allows easy indoor/outdoor living experience. It made me want a garage door in my New York apartment haha.
It is the perfect place to escape and be surrounded by nature. Secluded enough in the Black Hills but not too far from Rapid City. The sunset is absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend staying for a few days so you can really enjoy the place. Unfortunately, my friends and I only stayed one night because we had to head back on the road again. If you do end up staying here, make sure to comment in the journal. You may see mine :) This Airbnb is a hidden gem and I'm definitely coming back again.
