You might be a neutrals girl (or guy) but you can totally pull off this ultra violet eyeshadow look. A great way to ease into this purple eyeshadow trend is to use purple eyeliner and apply it to your waterline or tightline your eyes. If you want to go one extra step further, use a lilac eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eyes to give a pop of pastel.
If the eyeliner and highlighter seem a bit too safe for you, here are the steps on how to achieve this look that I wore last weekend. First, apply your base like your foundation, concealer, and powder. On to the fun part: the eyes! First, apply your favorite purple eyeshadow to your lids using a eyeshadow brush or your finger tip. I combined two purple colors (top row, the 3rd and 4th) from the Elf Baked Eyeshadow Palette (be careful these shadows tend to have a lot of fallout). Next, use you blending brush and buff out the edges. If you are having any difficulties blending out the purple, I recommend using a translucent powder. This will help diffuse the color without adding any additional color to the crease. Apply the same two colors to your lower lash line and add the lighter purple to the inner corners of your eyes. Once you finish all of the blending, tightline your eyes with some plum eyeliner and smudge it out on the outer corners. Apply your favorite mascara like this drugstore waterproof one or this one. Since there is very little eyeliner to the look, I applied some individual eyelashes so my natural eyelashes wouldn't get lost with all of the color. If you have been gifted with naturally long eyelashes, you can skip this part.
Remember, this look is all about the eyes so keep the rest of your make-up simple. I applied some rose color blush and the best drugstore bronzer on the market to warm up my complexion. For the lips, I mixed this Maybelline nude lipstick and this Rimmel London pink lipstick to create this soft pink lip look.
I hope this inspires you to make a statement with your makeup this summer! Would you ever try this make-up trend? If so, please tag me on Instagram so I can see all of your beautiful, bold make-up looks!
