Lately I've been wearing more dresses as the weather keeps on getting warmer and more humid - that's when I decided to pull out my slip dresses. Slip dresses are not just worn under dresses but can also be worn by themselves. You're probably thinking that there is no way I can pull this off in public but in fact you can with the right accessories. It's not just your average nightgown or undergarment.

My favorite slip dresses are the ones you find at vintage stores that tend to have delicate straps and lace trim around the hem. Sometimes those slips are a bit too sheer to wear on their own and can come off sexy when you're trying not to be. By styling it with a boyfriend blazer, it adds a great juxtaposition between masculine and feminine. Make sure to look for boyfriend blazers that have some coverage around the butt area so you don't have worry about flashing anyone.

If secondhand slip dresses are not your thing, consider rummaging through your closet to find detachable slips in some of your already owned dresses. This particular slip dress was actually apart of a crochet dress that I've previously worn but decided to wear both dresses separately for different occasions. Now I have two different looks but for the price of one! Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper in your closet to find some unexpected gems.
