FLORAL DRESS AND PLATFORM SANDALS

When it's just too hot to wear pants you opt for some dresses. For whatever reason, when summer comes around every year, I roll my eyes when I look at my clothes in my closet. Pants are typical my go-to look for any season, but during the humid months, dresses become the easiest piece of clothing to put on. Whenever I'm looking for a new summer dress, I tend to shop for above-the-knee dresses that are flowy. Flowy dresses are key since anything form fitting will make you sweat even more...who wants that? For color palette, I tend to stay in the neutral family so like this one or even baby pink. If you're feeling like you already have so many neutral floral dresses, why not try this green dress from Reformation. Just enough color but not too bold.

Lately I've been pairing my summer dresses with my favorite platform sandals (you might have seen them in this post or this Instagram post from July 4th). As someone who doesn't typically wear platforms, I ended up stumbling a few times but don't give up, you will get the hang of them. Once you get use to them, they become pretty easy to walk in. These sandals are such a great alternative to heels because you don't have to worry about your heels getting caught in the subway grates! Of course this is only an issue if you live in a large city like NYC.
