A sea of tulips as far as your eyes can see. Well, maybe not that far. This past Mother’s Day weekend, Shannon and I took a quick 24 hour trip to Providence, Rhode Island just to see these beautiful tulips. This family owned farm has over 600,000 tulips; where you can pick your very own flowers. How cool is that?!
Since this farm is scheduled on Mother Nature’s time, every year the bloom is different. Make sure to check out their Bloom Report to see any updates on the tickets and how the fields look. They only accept people who buy tickets online in advanced. We bought our tickets the day before we left for Rhode Island just because they only sell tickets 2-7 days ahead of time. They are open 7 days a week from 10 am to 7pm through out the months of April and May (check-out their website for more info). Although there weren’t that many tulips to buy, the experience was so much fun (check-out my highlights on Instagram). Shannon and I were discussing how this was the windiest day we have ever photographed together (you probably cannot tell from the photos haha).
Just like my last photoshoot at the New York Botanical Garden (if you missed it, blog post over here), I used the service, Rent the Runway to rent this beautiful orange dress (exact here). I was having a hard time finding something for this photo shoot since it was last minute and I wanted to challenge myself and wear a color I wouldn’t usually wear. This dress fit like a dream and I think it would be perfect for wedding season. For the accessories, I went with this affordable boater hat (exact here) and some gold heels (exact here). This dress would also look amazing with a belt!
You guys can probably already tell, I LOVE FLOWERS. What gave you that hint? haha. Comment below your favorite flower! I would love to know!
